Fitness Plus Summer Camp 2019 – “Wonder Trek!”

The Recreation staff of Fitness Plus is excited to offer Kids Camp again for the summer of 2019! This summer, campers will be traveling to wherever our imaginations take us. Every week, our theme will focus around different fantasy worlds; all of these worlds originate from great literature, films, and TV cinema.

Kids ages 6 – 12 have the opportunity to spend time with their peers in a unique environment. Every day is jam-packed with exciting games, team-building activities, creative crafts and experiments, fitness, and endless play. Registration

  • Priority registration for Fitness Plus members and Saint Francis Healthcare System employees begins on April 1.
  • Non-Member registration begins April 15.
  • Download the registration form (or pick up a copy at the Service Desk), fill out, and return to Fitness Plus
  • Camp sessions have limited enrollment. Please register early to ensure your child’s spot.
  • Payment should be scheduled with Rachel Thompson by appointment. Please call 573-331-5963.

Camp Prices

Fees are determined by the parent’s membership type.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit equal to the first week of camp per child is due at the time of registration and will be deducted from the total amount due. Total amount due will be determined after registration and due before the first day your child attends camp unless an alternative payment plan is chosen. An additional $6 Activity Fee per session, per child will be determined after registration.

**Membership Status: Member rate will be charged for children who are members and for those children who have at least one parent who is a member. Non-Member rate will be charged for children who are not a member and do not have a parent that is a member.

Payment Options:

  • Weekly Payments, due on Monday / Tuesday each session.
  • Monthly Payments, due May 1st, June 1st, July 1st, and August 1st.
  • Payment in Full, One payment due May 31st.
  • Payroll Deduction, for Saint Francis Employees ONLY. Determined fees will be withheld from several payroll checks (an additional form is required and will be sent via email).

After Care

When after-care is needed, parents will pay a $2 fee to Kids Plus when you pick up your child prior to 6 pm. After 6 pm, regular Kids Plus fees apply.

Ages

Summer Camp is for school age children, 6 year olds to age 12. Those who are 5 years old but will be turning 6 before August 18, 2019 may attend camp. Children aged 13 – 16 years old may be considered to attend camp as a Counselor-in-Training with approval from the Recreation Programmer.

Add-on Programs

Personal Swim Lessons may be chosen as an optional program that may be added to your child’s Summer Camp experience. A separate registration form will be required to register for this add-on program. Swim lessons will be billed separately.

Lunch and Snacks

Parents are responsible for packing a lunch. Lunches should NOT require microwaving or refrigeration. Soda and candy are strongly discouraged. A snack will be provided in mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Lunch will be provided every Friday.

Swimming

Campers will be going swimming on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday during each session. We will swim in the Recreation Pool. Swim time is after lunch, from 2 – 4 pm. Certified lifeguards will be on duty. Campers will be evaluated on swim ability prior to swimming.

Campers should bring suits, towels, and goggles, if needed.

Field Trips

Occasional field trips to various local destinations are planned. Campers will be picked up from and returned to Fitness Plus by the conclusion of the trip. Campers will also receive a T-shirt that should be worn on field trip day. An activity fee of $6 will apply for field trips.

Schedules

On the first day of camp, parents will be given a schedule of planned activities. This basic schedule is subject to change, based on special events and particular days of the week. Camp is 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday.

Counselors-in-Training Program

Children ages 13 – 16 will have the opportunity to be Counselors-in-Training during Summer Camp 2019. Participants will assist staff and gain in-depth leadership skills. Please contact Rachel Thompson (573-331-5963 or rlthompson@sfmc.net) for more information and an application.

Drop off / Pick Up

Parents/guardians or designees are required to enter the facility to officially sign in and sign out their child. Parents/guardians or designees must be on the original registration form as authorized to pick up their child. For convenience, drop off for campers begins at 7:30 am in the Multipurpose Room. Aftercare will be available in Kids Plus after camp from 5 – 6 pm for $2 per child. If your child remains in Kids Plus after 6 pm, regular Kids Plus fees apply.

Electronics Policy

Beginning this summer, there will no longer be electronic days at summer camp. All electronics are banned from camp including, but not limited to, cellphones, tablets, gaming devices, iPods, etc.

Cancellation Policy

Requests for Summer Day Camp cancellations need to be made at least 5 days in advance in order to get a full refund. Cancellation requests less than 5 days and more than 48 hours will be charged a 35% administration fee or loss of the deposit, whichever is greater. Late cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will NOT be eligible for a refund. Refunds are NOT issued for days missed due to sickness, not attending, or for late cancellations.
