2 pounds lean beef round or veal, ground
¼ cup uncooked rice
¼ teaspoon ginger
¼ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon pepper
Mix meat, rice and seasonings. Mold into balls. Add meatballs to sauce and cook slowly for 40 minutes. Stir often. Serves 8.
½ cup white raisins
1 large onion, quartered
1 (14.5-ounce) can whole tomatoes (unsalted)
6 ounces water
1 cup canned applesauce (unsweetened)
- Mix all ingredients, except raisins, in blender.
- Pour into 2 quart saucepan. Add raisins.
- Simmer 10 minutes.
